Use Those Wrapping Paper Scraps: Layered Gift Wrapping Idea

We’ve all been there—reaching the end of a roll of your favorite wrapping paper, only to find there's just not quite enough left for your next gift. But before you toss those last bits away, consider this: they’re perfect for adding a special, personalized touch to your gift wrapping! Let me show you how to be both resourceful and creative with those beautiful scraps.

Layered Look with Kraft Paper

One of my go-to solutions when I’m short on wrapping paper is to pair it with kraft brown paper. Not only is kraft paper a versatile staple that pairs well with almost any pattern, but it also gives your gift a natural, yet polished look.

Here’s what I do:

Wrap the Gift in Kraft Paper: Start by wrapping your gift in a base layer of kraft brown paper. This simple background lets your favorite wrapping paper stand out. Don’t have kraft paper? No problem! Another fun and creative way to use those scraps is by mixing and matching different patterns. It might sound a little bold, but the result is often stunning and unique.

Layer the Scrap Paper: Next, take the scrap of wrapping paper you have left and place it across the middle of the gift. This creates a beautifully layered effect, allowing the pattern or design you love to take center stage. You can secure it with tape or, for an extra touch, tie a ribbon around the whole gift.

Finish with a Coordinating Ribbon: A ribbon that matches or complements the pattern helps tie the whole look together.

I hope this inspires you to look at your leftover wrapping paper in a whole new light! P.S. This unicorn wrapping paper is available in our shop!
