Lakeside Beauty

The inspiration for Michelle and David’s invitations was obvious when they showed me their stunning wedding location. Michelle’s family lake home offered stunning views, but it was also a very meaningful location for the bride and groom. This gorgeous setting became the focal point for the suite, which features light, airy watercolor illustrations of the venue as well as beautiful calligraphy accents by the talented Victoria Rothwell.

For the oversized invitations, I illustrated the exact lake scene that guests would see during the ceremony, while the RSVP cards include an illustration of the home on the property where the reception would take place. The main palette of blues and greens reflects the serene location. When it came to printing, we chose a quality felt paper so that each guest felt like they had the original painting.

Every detail, including the illustrated leaves on the bellyband and the stamps on the envelopes, was chosen with the natural environment in mind.
